Emergency Room Nurse

Position Overview

This role requires clinical competence across multiple critical specialties—Emergency, ICU, and Med-Surg/Pediatrics—to provide dynamic coverage based on daily patient care needs.

Key Responsibilities & Work Environment

• Daily Assignment: Report daily to the House Supervisor for placement based on facility priority. High flexibility and adaptability are essential.
• Multi-Specialty Floating: Float to departments in which you are qualified to work. Duties may range from full patient loads in primary specialties to task-oriented support (e.g., answering call lights, phones, unit assistance).
• Schedule: 8-hour or 12-hour Day/Night shifts. Must be flexible to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Onboarding/Orientation: Orientation starts on Mondays only. Strict compliance timelines apply (missing compliance deadlines will delay start dates to the following Monday).

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of nursing experience.
  • Required Specialty Experience: Candidates must have documented experience in all three of the following clinical areas:
  1. Emergency Department (ER)
  2. Medical-Surgical / Pediatrics
  3. Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Adaptability: Demonstrated willingness and ability to adjust assignments daily and support team members across units.

Required Certifications

• BLS: Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
• ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (American Heart Association)
• PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (American Heart Association)
• TNCC: Trauma Nurse Core Course
• Moderate Sedation: Moderate Conscious Sedation certification required (may be completed during onboarding following confirmation).
