Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a related field.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by ASCP or equivalent.
• Michigan state licensure (or eligibility to obtain it).
• Prior experience in a clinical lab is a plus but not required.
• Strong understanding of lab procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be open to working night shifts.

Job Overview:

Your responsibilities include conducting laboratory tests on blood, urine, tissue, and other samples across multiple disciplines such as chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunology. You will analyze and interpret results to support physicians in diagnosing and treating patients, while operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting lab instruments to ensure accuracy. Following strict protocols for specimen handling, labeling, and storage is essential, along with maintaining laboratory safety and infection control standards. You will record and report test results using the Laboratory Information System (LIS), participate in quality assurance programs to uphold accreditation, and collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care. Additionally, you will help train and support new team members and students, and stay informed about advancements in laboratory technology.
