What You'll Do

• Provide direct patient care in a 24-bed PCU with a patient ratio of 1:3.
• Manage patients with conditions such as AFIB/RVR, DKA, HTN, COPD, ARF, post-Heart Caths, and stroke patients requiring TPA.
• Support patients with various needs, including chest tube management, tracheostomies, and other acute care procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including charge nurses, resource nurses, RT, hospitalists, and therapy services.
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech Expanse EMR.
• Maintain compliance through competency exams, including EKG.
• Follow unit protocols for medication management using Alaris pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing.

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or ability to obtain
• BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications
• Minimum of 2 years acute care RN experience
• Ability to pass EKG competency exam

• Experience with titratable medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, Neo, Levophed
• Skills in chest tube management, tracheostomies, peritoneal dialysis, CSF drains
• Flexibility with unit types including Stroke and Med-Surg
