Details\n \n Emergency Department setting, combined adult/pediatric, non-trauma \n STEMI and Stroke Certified facility \n Patient ratio of 1:4 \n Rotating shifts include 3x12 or 4x12 options: 11a-11:30p, 3p-3:30a, and 11p-11:30a \n Rotating schedule with every other weekend and holidays as needed \n 13-week assignment \n Requirements\n \n Active DC RN license required (pending license accepted with proof at submission and license in hand prior to start) \n Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS \n Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience within the last 7 years required \n At least 1 previous travel assignment required for consideration \n Teaching hospital and community hospital experience required \n Two supervisory references required, including one from most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the past 3 years \n Skilled in emergency care for pediatric and adult populations including trauma, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric conditions \n Experience managing dysrhythmias, obtaining 12-lead EKGs, and administering emergency medications including IV vasopressors \n Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration \n Experience with ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ABG interpretation preferred \n Skilled in orthopedic splinting and management of ortho trauma cases \n Additional Information\n \n Provide emergency nursing care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies \n Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition \n Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and provide emergency medication administration as needed \n Must be comfortable practicing infection control and isolation precautions using appropriate PPE \n No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract \n Local candidates accepted within 60 miles at a reduced rate \n Candidates with prior MedStar employment must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler \n Manager interviews are not guaranteed; candidates should be comfortable proceeding without one \n \n \n American Traveler Job ID P-754271.
