Permit Coordinator (Delray Beach)

This company provides cost-effective exterior hard surface solutions for commercial properties, specializing in asphalt paving, asphalt repairs, milling, sealcoating, pavement striping, signage, and emergency maintenance services. Serving a diverse range of commercial and industrial clients including hospitals, HOAs, municipalities, multifamily communities, national retailers, and more, they are looking to add an experienced Permit Coordinator to their team.

Position Summary

The Permit Coordinator is responsible for identifying, preparing, submitting, and tracking permits and approvals required for commercial paving and pavement maintenance projects throughout Florida. This role works closely with project managers, operations teams, field personnel, subcontractors, and local permitting authorities to ensure projects are properly authorized and remain on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and coordinate permitting requirements across Florida cities and counties.
• Prepare, submit, and track permit applications, supporting documentation, and required approvals.
• Coordinate with municipal building departments, public works departments, transportation agencies, and other regulatory authorities.
• Identify applicable right-of-way, traffic control, signage, and other project-specific permit requirements.
• Follow up on applications, resolve deficiencies, and communicate status updates and potential delays to project teams.
• Maintain accurate permit records, tracking logs, approvals, expiration dates, and closeout documentation.
• Coordinate permitting timelines with project managers and field operations to support project schedules.
• Assist with expedited permitting and authorization requirements for emergency service projects, as applicable.
• Proactively address permitting issues to support operational efficiency and a positive client experience.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in construction permitting, permit coordination, or construction administration needed.
• Experience with commercial paving, sitework, or pavement maintenance is a plus.
• Familiarity with Florida municipal and county permitting processes and electronic permitting portals.
• Strong organizational, communication, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively with government agencies, project managers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
