Compensation Transparency

Salary Range: $35.00-$45.00/hour

Base salary is market-driven and determined at the time of offer based on benchmarks such as role-specific market data, company stage, and factors such as internal equity, relevant experience, interview performance, location, and level.

Schedule: This role can be remote in Pacific or Mountain Standard Time zones or a hybrid position based out of Walnut Creek, CA. This is a part-time position with schedule typically Monday-Friday and overtime or more hours are typically required in January during a given year.

Job Summary

The Bookkeeping Specialist collaborates closely with staff and 30-40 clients. The Specialist is the key contact with clients, assisting in meeting deadlines and compliance issues, delivering outstanding accuracy and service, in a timely and professional manner. Schedule is Monday-Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Reconciles all client bank accounts, credit cards, and loans and other liability accounts to the respective bank statements, accounting for differences, and notifying clients of changes that need to be made to the checkbook register.
• Obtains documentation of purchased asset.
• Prepares, reviews, and maintains an accurate general ledger.
• Prepares journal entries to record monthly production, adjustments, and collections in the general ledger. Responsible for accuracy of the general ledger of all assigned clients.
• Prepares payroll journal entries and annual 1099s as needed, reconciles GL wages to YTD payroll reports. Advanced payroll knowledge is an advantage.
• Prepares Business License Renewals, Business Property Statements, Sales/Use Tax Returns, and other agency filings as necessary for clients.
• Possess excellent organizational and problem solving-skills and the ability to independently prioritize multiple tasks.
• Able to sustain productivity in a demanding environment, maintaining composure and focus under pressure and deadlines.
• Possess professional manner and work ethics.
• Must be able to exercise good judgement and initiative; handle situations with poise, understanding, and tact.
• Proactive with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have outstanding logic and critical thinking skills.

Key Requirements

• Experience in QuickBooks Online, or QuickBooks Desktop
• Strong understanding of Excel spreadsheets, Outlook, and Adobe
• 3-5 years of Bookkeeping experience, preferably but not limited to multiple client assignments or CPA environments=
• High school diploma or equivalent required
