Accounting Specialist

Salary Range: $68K-$75K | Bonus Eligible Schedule: Full-time | Monday-Friday Required: Knowledge of basic accounting principles Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. About the Opportunity A mission-driven law firm is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join its growing accounting and finance team in Boston. This full-time, hybrid opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with strong organizational skills, experience in accounts payable , billing , and collections , and a desire to grow within a collaborative professional services environment. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Accounting , Finance , or related field, or equivalent experience 2+ years of accounting or office experience , preferably in a professional services environment Knowledge of basic accounting principles Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively Key Functions Process invoices, vouchers, and expense reimbursements Maintain accounts payable records and supporting documentation Review and process employee expense reports Ensure compliance with firm accounting policies and procedures Assist with legal billing , pre-bills, and invoice preparation Support accounts receivable and collections efforts Generate WIP, receivables, and aging reports for attorneys and management Coordinate follow-up on outstanding client balances Process deposits, receipts, wire transfers, and ACH transactions Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities Maintain accurate financial data within accounting systems Participate in departmental projects and process improvements Respond to vendor and billing inquiries professionally and efficiently Serve as backup support for billing coordination functions Grow Your Accounting Career If you are an experienced Accounting Specialist looking to grow your career in a collaborative legal environment with hybrid flexibility and meaningful work, we encourage you to apply today.
