Job Description Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) responsible for donor eligibility determination, donor adverse event management, review of laboratory test results, and donor notification of unsuitable test results. Works under guidance of Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and Center Physician. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility: informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical exam, blood testing, reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport. Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs regarding unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and assess need for occupational health evaluation, following EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations of pandemic threats. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, including recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified as EMT‑Paramedic in state of assignment. Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Complete FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years clinical or hospital experience. Location USA – MN – Mankato Compensation Hourly wage range: $25.60 – $35.20.
