Banquet Server

POSITION: Banquet Server, Part Time DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage REPORTS TO: Banquet Manager and Banquet Captain FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt THE ROLE The Banquet Server is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service during banquet events and functions. This role focuses on ensuring a positive guest experience through attentive service, professionalism, and attention to detail. Banquet Servers work closely with the Banquet Captain, Banquet Manager, and other event staff to ensure smooth setup, service, and breakdown of events. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with collecting all banquet equipment including flatware, China, glassware, and serving pieces needed for each event. Prepare garnishes, beverages, condiments, and bread. Clean and fill salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, creamers, etc. Assist with preparation and set‑up of event room when necessary. Prepare tables with place settings as instructed. Establish and maintain positive client relationships. Breakdown tables and banquet equipment after each event. Clean and return serving pieces to the proper storage area. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School degree/GED or equivalent. At least one year of experience in a Food & Beverage environment. Strong ability to work with other staff members in the facility. Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks. Must adhere to local Food Codes. Position requires extensive interaction with staff. Good oral, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail. Results‑oriented and self‑driven. Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands and unexpected events. Working Conditions Location: On Site, Broward County Convention Center Physical Demands Substantial standing, walking, and pushing and/or pulling of equipment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Repetitive eye/hand coordination. Moderate noise level. Work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
