Job Description

What will you do as a Technical Service Representative – Automation at Sealed Air?

As a Technical Service Representative – Automation, you will provide technical support for Sealed Air’s automated packaging solutions, working directly with customers to install, commission, maintain, and repair equipment. You’ll diagnose mechanical, electrical, software, and controls-related issues, perform preventative and emergency maintenance, and help ensure reliable system performance. You’ll also build strong customer relationships, provide technical training, and identify opportunities to expand service and maintenance solutions. This role requires frequent travel to customer locations and the flexibility to support occasional nights or weekends

Responsibilities

Why do we need you?

• Install, commission, and integrate Sealed Air’s automated packaging systems at customer locations, ensuring equipment is fully operational.
• Perform preventative and emergency maintenance to resolve mechanical, electrical, software, and equipment-related issues.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot automation equipment remotely and on-site, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime.
• Calibrate and adjust machinery settings to support product quality, equipment performance, and operational efficiency.
• Train and support customers on equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting best practices while serving as a key technical point of contact.
• Collaborate with leadership, engineering, and support teams to resolve customer issues and communicate opportunities for future system improvements.
• Document and manage service activities, including work orders, repairs, parts used, maintenance schedules, inventory, and customer communications.
• Identify and develop opportunities for service agreements, preventive maintenance, and other elective services while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

What do you need to succeed?

• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for automated packaging systems, robotics, and industrial machinery .
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, PLC, and control systems .
• Experience working with industrial automation equipment , including conveyors and packaging machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics for troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of manufacturing safety standards and protocols .
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills , particularly when resolving complex issues under pressure.
• Proficiency with computer tools, diagnostic systems, reporting, and service management systems .
• Strong customer-facing communication, organization, and time-management skills , with the ability to independently prioritize activities and travel to customer sites, including occasional overnight or weekend travel.
