Posted Job Title Grants Manager B (Pathology and Laboratory Medicine BusinessOffice) Job Profile Title Grants Manager B Job Description Summary The primary purpose of this position is to support the researchactivities of assigned Principal Investigators (PIs). Under limitedsupervision, the Grants Manager B is responsible for managingsponsored program funds throughout the full award lifecycle, frompre-award through post-award administration. The position issupervised by the department's Director of Finance and Operationsand works closely with the PSOM Office of Research SupportServices, which provides functional guidance and oversight. Job Description This position provides oversight of the pre-award process bysupervising Grants Coordinators and partnering with PrincipalInvestigators on proposal development, budget preparation, sponsorcompliance requirements, and submission activities for a diverseportfolio of funding sources. The Grants Manager B is alsoresponsible for managing post-award administration, includingmonitoring and reviewing expenditures, reconciling sponsoredproject accounts, preparing and reviewing monthly financialreports, and meeting regularly with Principal Investigators todiscuss project finances and funding status. The Grants Manager Breviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and Universitypolicies, ensures regulatory requirements are met, and verifiesthat Conflict of Interest disclosures and other requireddocumentation are completed and submitted as appropriate. This roleprovides comprehensive financial management services, includingbudget reconciliation, payroll processing, salary grid maintenance,financial reporting, effort reporting support, and monitoring grantexpenditures to ensure compliance with sponsor regulations andUniversity guidelines. The position is supervised by thedepartment's Director of Finance and Operations and works closelywith the PSOM Office of Research Support Services, which providesfunctional guidance and oversight. The Grants Manager B oversees acomplex portfolio that includes large programmatic awards,institutional training grants, and other sponsored projects. The individual manages all aspects of post-award administration forassigned Principal Investigators and serves as a resource to othergrants management staff by interpreting sponsor and Universitypolicies and procedures. The position plays a significant role inthe development, implementation, and continuous improvement ofdepartmental grants management policies and processes. Additionalresponsibilities include creating and maintaining salary grids,assisting with effort reporting activities, supporting departmentalleadership during the annual budget process, and supervising aGrants Coordinator. This position is contingent upon continued funding. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 5 to 7 years of experience or anequivalent combination of education and experience required.
