Growing together.The full-time (40 hours per week) Pharmacy Technician will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.Pharmacy Location: San Bernadino County Public Health 400 North Pepper Ave Colton, CA 92324Hours of Operation: Pharmacy is open 24hr/ 7 days a weekPrimary Responsibilities:Prepares and dispenses medications by measuring, counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacistProcesses prescription orders accurately, including entering patient and prescription data into pharmacy systemsAssists pharmacists and healthcare providers by gathering necessary information and supporting workflow efficiencyProcess medication orders from electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) with accuracy and urgencyDelivers medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) and nursing unitsMaintains medication inventory by restocking, tracking controlled substances, and monitoring expiration datesSupports medication safety initiatives, including double-checks, labeling, and documentationCollaborates with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure timely and safe medication deliveryComplies with hospital policies and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission and state/federal regulationsYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentActive CA state Pharmacy Technician license in good standingRecent work experience as a Pharmacy Technician, ideally in outpatient settingExcellent customer service skills including effective communication skills, both verbal and writtenProficiency with pharmacy softwareDemonstrated ability to prepare and dispense medications by measuring, counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacistDemonstrated ability to process prescription orders accurately, including entering patient and prescription data into pharmacy systemsDemonstrated ability to assist pharmacists and healthcare providers by gathering necessary information and supporting workflow efficiencyDemonstrated ability to process medication orders from electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) with accuracy and urgencyDemonstrated ability to deliver medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) and nursing unitsDemonstrated ability to maintain medication inventory by restocking, tracking controlled substances, and monitoring expiration datesDemonstrated ability to support medication safety initiatives, including double-checks, labeling, and documentationDemonstrated ability to collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure timely and safe medication deliveryDemonstrated ability to comply with hospital policies and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission and state/federal regulationsPreferred Qualification:PTCB/CPhTPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16 - $29 per hour based on full-time employment.
