This position serves as the primary backup to the Production Supervisor and assists in coordinating the activities of both full-time and agency employees.| || --- || **Essential Functions and Responsibilities** |* Assist the Supervisor in organizing daily production runs, ensuring materials are staged, and machinery is ready for operation.* Coordinate the daily tasks of plant and agency staff to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.* Maintain constant communication with the Production Supervisor regarding line speeds, equipment downtime, or labor shortages.* Immediately escalate any deviations in product quality, packaging integrity, or food safety concerns to the Supervisor and Quality Assurance (QA) department.* Coordinate the timely transfer of raw materials to the lines and ensure finished goods are staged correctly for pickup.* Assist in verifying that incoming materials from the warehouse match the production schedule requirements.* Assist the Supervisor in identifying yield loss or inventory discrepancies, and that all production documents are ready for planned and unannounced quality audits.* Conduct real-time reviews of production documents, identify documentation "misses" immediately* Identify equipment malfunctions early, coordinate with the Maintenance department to schedule repairs or preventive tasks.* Serve as the floor champion for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Ensure all employees wear proper PPE and follow hygiene protocols.* Report on the progress of all new recruits.
