What is needed for this job as our Regional Major Gift Officer:

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or additional relevant education preferred
• 3+ years of successful major gift fundraising experience, preferably within a community center, academic medical center, hospital system, university, or similarly complex organization
• Demonstrated success managing the full major gift cycle, including prospect identification and qualification, cultivation, solicitation, negotiation, closing, and stewardship of individual gifts
• Strong track record securing significant philanthropic commitments, ideally at the $25,000+ level
• Broad fundraising experience across individual, planned, annual, corporate, foundation, and event-based giving; exceptional strength in individual major gifts is essential
• Experience with Salesforce NPSP or comparable fundraising CRM preferred
• Professional fundraising training or credentials, such as AFP or CFRE, are a plus
• Proven ability to develop and execute fundraising strategies, establish and achieve goals, and manage multiple fundraising initiatives simultaneously
• Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and project management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Programs, Facilities, Branch leadership, Executive leadership, and other organizational partners
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, relationship-building, and persuasion skills, with the ability to inspire trust among diverse internal and external constituencies
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to execute effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills, coupled with a hands-on, results-oriented approach
• Ability to represent the Greater Philadelphia YMCA with professionalism, credibility, and enthusiasm among donors, community leaders, and other key stakeholders

The responsibilities we will trust you with as our Regional Major Gift Officer:

• Manage and grow a portfolio of approximately 100125 qualified major gift prospects and donors
• Develop and execute individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies that generate philanthropic commitments of $25,000 or more
• Conduct consistent face-to-face, virtual, and telephone visits with prospects and donors to build meaningful, long-term relationships
• Deepen donor engagement by connecting individual philanthropic interests with the YMCA's mission, priorities, and community impact
• Meet established annual fundraising, donor-visit, proposal, stewardship, and revenue goals in partnership with Financial Development and Unit leadership
• Identify, research, qualify, and cultivate new major gift prospects within an assigned geographic territory
• Develop compelling proposals, gift agreements, stewardship reports, correspondence, and other donor-facing materials
• Partner with Branch Executive Directors and Association leadership to understand local priorities and align donor interests with organizational opportunities
• Collaborate with program leaders to develop a thorough understanding of YMCA initiatives and effectively communicate their impact to prospective and current donors
• Partner with the Director of Development, Major Gifts, on strategies for complex, transformational, and high-value solicitations
• Maintain accurate and timely donor records, contact reports, opportunities, moves management activity, and pipeline information in Salesforce NPSP
• Participate in donor events, cultivation opportunities, recognition activities, and stewardship initiatives throughout the region
• Serve as a visible and professional ambassador for the Greater Philadelphia YMCA throughout the community
• Share insights regarding donor interests, emerging opportunities, community trends, and philanthropic activity to inform fundraising strategy and future planning
