VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE

About the Opportunity

Our client is an established and very well-respected manufacturing company and U.S. subsidiary of a global parent company headquartered in Japan, with a growing portfolio that includes multiple domestic subsidiary companies.

The VP of Finance is a full P&L role reporting directly to executive leadership, with regular partnership with the parent company on strategic financial priorities. The company name will be shared once mutual interest is confirmed.

The Role

The VP of Finance will own financial operations, accounting, and corporate governance for the organization, including full P&L accountability for the consolidated corporate entity and its subsidiary companies. This person will be a key business partner to executive leadership, turning financial data into the strategy that drives growth.

P&L, Budgeting & Financial Analysis

• Full accountability for the accuracy and performance of the consolidated corporate P&L and individual subsidiary company statements.
• Lead the annual corporate budgeting process across all departments and subsidiaries, with monthly variance analysis.
• Lead FP&A to give leadership visibility into profitability, cost drivers, and growth opportunities.
• Translate financial data into clear narratives for executive leadership and board presentations.

Governance, Banking & Treasury

• Oversee all corporate and subsidiary bank accounts, including credit lines, liquidity, and cash flow forecasting.
• Maintain and enforce internal controls under JSOX (Japanese Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance.
• Manage multi-currency consolidations, international tax compliance, and transfer pricing across global entities.
• Monitor the financial health of subsidiary companies and standardize financial practices for newly acquired businesses, including post-merger integration.
• Lead and mentor the accounting and finance teams.
• Modernize financial systems, ERP architecture, and banking interfaces to scale with company growth.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA, CPA, or CMA strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience in FP&A, corporate reporting, and operational finance.
• Direct experience owning corporate budgets and full P&L for mid-to-large-scale operations.
• Hands‑on experience implementing, maintaining, or auditing JSOX (or similar) compliance.
• International experience: foreign subsidiaries, multi‑currency reporting, cross‑border financial structures strongly preferred.
• M&A experience: due diligence, financial modeling, integration planning, synergy analysis.
• Manufacturing background with cost accounting and working capital management experience preferred.
• Strong foundation in GAAP.
