Date Posted: 2026-06-23 Location: US-NC-WINSTON SALEM-1455 ~ 1455 Fairchild Rd ~ ADMIN BLDG Role Type: Onsite Security Clearance: None/Not Required About the Role Senior Flammability Engineer on the Modification and Upgrade (MAU) team responsible for incorporating changes to in‑service aircraft interiors, including commercial seating, cabin attendant seating, and galleys. The role focuses on certifying and delivering modifications to TSOA seats and related furniture. Responsibilities Provide technical leadership and coordinate with a cross‑function team of engineering, certification, and program management in a fast‑pace, customer‑focused environment. Conduct testing, analysis, and design reviews to demonstrate compliance with applicable structural and occupant injury requirements (14 CFR 25.853, 14 CFR 25.869, Heat Release SCs, etc.). Generate and review compliance plans and documents to support TSO, PMA, and STC approvals. Participate in training to grow talent and develop processes. Review proposed projects for feasibility, cost, and lead‑time. Engage with the organization to further the values and vision of the company. Qualifications – Must Have Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 3 years of experience. U.S. citizenship required. 3–5 years of experience in certification/testing and aircraft cabin interiors, preferably commercial seating. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Bunsen burner tests, oil burner tests, and OSU heat release / smoke density per 14 CFR 25 App F. Working knowledge of certification under 14 CFR Part 21 and Part 25. Knowledge of TSO/PMA/STC/TC qualification and certification. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
