Preadmission Testing PRN- Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant- Fayetteville

Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for a Preadmission Testing Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Piedmont Augusta. The position works Monday through Friday, 08:00‑16:30 or 09:30‑18:00, offering a consistent and flexible schedule. Overview This role involves pre‑anesthesia screening to determine patient suitability for planned anesthetic, along with evaluating, treating, and documenting patient care. Responsibilities Perform Pre‑Anesthesia Screening assessments to determine if a patient is optimized for planned anesthetic. Examine, evaluate, and treat patients with serious medical conditions, illness or injuries. Assign ASA Physical Status Score. Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record data in the patient’s medical record, including airway assessments, Mallampati score, heart and lung sounds. Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care. Write progress notes; prepare patient work‑ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings. Develop plans of care that minimize complications and troubleshoot problems when they arise; apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications. Collaborate with Anesthesiologists to develop a strong working knowledge of Pre‑Anesthesia testing protocols and guidelines.
