They perform a variety of complex accounting tasks related to the processing of accounts payable and receivable transactions. The accounting specialist II works closely with management to mentor and train accounting staff and work towards improving processes.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. There are many necessary activities to satisfy any of the following performance guidelines.Process invoices through the use of the various receiving system exports and through data uploads into the financial system. Resolve complex issues using the various systemsReview and validate data for accuracy and integrity of financial reportsPrepare month-end accruals and reconcile accounts to the general ledgerAssist in month-end closing processPrepare and process accounts payable or accounts receivable checks, wire transfers, ACH paymentsCreate and maintain various spreadsheets in an accurate, timely and professional mannerAssist in maintaining the accounts payable and receivable ERP systemsWork with internal and external customers to ensure accurate and timely processing of payable or receivable accountsParticipate on teams and cross-train in other accounting areasMentoring and training accounting specialistsAssist with audit fieldwork for both operational and financial auditsMinimum QualificationsEducationRequired: Associate's degree in business administration or the equivalent experienceDesired: Bachelor's degree in business administration or the equivalent experienceExperienceFour (4) or more years of prior accounting experienceWorking knowledge of electronic receiving systemsLFHI Competencies expected of all employees include: Action Oriented, Customer Focus, Instills Trust, Communicates Effectively, Ensure Accountability, and Values DifferencesOther required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Service-oriented individual with a positive and friendly demeanorAbility to respond to continually changing priorities and coordinate multiple projectsExcellent attention to detail, accuracy and organization skillsStrong business acumenStrong working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving and organizational abilitiesStrong customer service, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to maintain confidentialityAbility to use sound judgmentProficient in data entryAbility to read, write, speak and comprehend EnglishCompensation DisclaimerThe actual rate of pay offered within the range may depend on several factors such as skills, knowledge, expertise, and experience.
