Job Details Job Title: Social Media Manager Location-Type: Hybrid - Los Angeles, CA Start Date Is: ASAP Duration: 6 months (contract) Compensation Range: $55-65/hr W2 Benefits: Eligible for Health, Dental, Vision, 401K Must be authorized to work in the U.S. This position is not eligible for sponsorship Job Description The client is seeking a hands-on Social Media Manager and Strategist to grow a cinema-focused social platform through data-driven strategy, community engagement, and original content creation. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Develop and execute an organic social growth strategy focused primarily on Instagram and TikTok. Define measurable social media goals, KPIs, and growth targets and report on performance. Analyze content performance and use data to continuously test and optimize strategy. Provide strategic direction, feedback, and guidance to an existing team of content creators. Create social content directly, including on-camera and/or edited content as needed. Identify trends, conversations, films, and cultural moments relevant to younger film audiences. Attend film screenings, activations, collaborations, and industry events throughout Los Angeles. Build relationships with filmmakers, creators, collaborators, and members of the film community. Identify and develop relationships with additional content creators when needed. Help build an engaged community around cinema discovery and independent film culture. 3 years of hands-on experience owning and managing social media accounts and defining and executing measurable social media strategy. Proven ability to organically grow social media accounts using a structured, data-driven testing process. Ability to define goals and KPIs and develop strategies that deliver against measurable targets. Genuine passion for and experience with cinema, film culture, and particularly the independent film space. Deep understanding of Instagram and/or TikTok audience growth and content strategy. Strong awareness of current film conversations, creators, trends, and cinema culture. Ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on content creation. Comfortable creating content on-camera and/or editing social content. Based in the Los Angeles area and available to attend screenings, activations, and events multiple times per week as needed. Social, outgoing, personable, and comfortable representing a brand in person. Resourceful, self-directed, and comfortable working in a flexible, grassroots environment. Ability to provide realistic growth projections and demonstrate accountability against performance goals. Ability to provide their own content creation and editing equipment. Preferred Qualifications Experience growing a film-focused Instagram, TikTok, or other social account. Existing personal social presence centered around film or cinema culture. Established relationships within the Los Angeles film, filmmaker, or creator community. Experience working as a freelancer, independent creator, or within a lean content team.
