This is a strong opportunity for a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer with heavy civil experience who wants big projects, a deep backlog and a real path to Project Manager. You'll run the engineering side of your scope on highway, bridge and infrastructure projects, much of it state DOT work. Atlanta locals are great, and candidates ready to relocate are welcome.What You'll Be Responsible ForRun submittals and RFIs for your scope from start to closeoutBuild and maintain quantity takeoffs, project logs and pay applicationsTrack cost against budget and prepare monthly cost reports and forecastsBuild and update the project schedule in Primavera P6 with the field teamCoordinate subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveriesWork with the owner, DOT inspectors and design engineers on change orders and field issuesRead and interpret plans, specs, traffic control and environmental requirementsMentor the field engineers on the team (Senior PE)Support the Project Manager and Superintendent with real time in the fieldWhat We're Looking For2+ years of project engineering on heavy civil highway, bridge or DOT projects (5+ years for Senior PE)Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related fieldHands on with submittals, RFIs, quantities, cost reports and change ordersWorking knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft OfficeGDOT or other state DOT experience is a plusBridge experience is a plusEIT or PE is a plusBased in the Atlanta area or ready to relocateWhy This Role Is Worth a ConversationCompany vehicle, fuel card and toll tagsBonus opportunity on top of base salary401(k) with up to a 6% company matchFull benefits packageEducation reimbursement and ongoing trainingA large national contractor with a deep backlog of highway and bridge work across the SoutheastA clear track from Project Engineer to Senior Project Engineer to Project ManagerHeavy civil work on the kind of projects that build a career.Type: direct hire
