Manufacturing Engineer

A Snapshot of Your Day

You will contribute to our business' success, navigating a very dynamic and fast-paced environment while solving various technical issues relating to complex gas turbine combustion components. You may participate in daily Gemba meetings where part/project priorities are highlighted as they relate to both standard production and various development initiatives. At times, you will be on the shop floor closely working with the operators to create robust manufacturing and repair processes in anticipation of new product release. You will collaborate daily with design and service engineering colleagues on DFM (design for manufacturing) topics for new combustion hardware.

How You'll Make anImpact

• Participate in and lead manufacturing and repairprocess development and improvement projects on gas turbine combustioncomponents.Effectively work withdesign and repair engineering colleagues on new product introduction andprocess development and industrialization.

• Develop and implement product-specific manufacturing andrepair processes utilizing sound engineering judgment and methodologies

• Ensure manufacturing and repair processes are clearlydefined and communicated from manufacturing engineering to the shop floorvia technical instructions, MIs, project briefings etc.

• Provide technical guidance and training to operators,technicians, and manufacturing engineers on the use of fixtures, tooling,and equipment

• Communicate and work effectively with design andservice engineering colleagues on new product development and introduction

What You Bring

• BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering orrelated field.

• New graduates welcome; experienced applicants may beconsidered at higher level.

• Preferred candidate will have manufacturing engineeringexperience in a fabrication and machine shop environment.

• Knowledge of or experience with fixture design, sheetmetal forming, fabrication, and welding techniques for Nickel-basedmaterials is a plus. Ability to interpret complex drawings andspecifications, including a solid understanding of GD&T

• Solid understanding of root cause analysis andcorrective/preventative action methods and familiarity with Lean and orSix Sigma philosophies and their application in process capability andimprovement

• Practical understanding of SAP or equivalent MRPsoftware as well as Siemens NX CAD software or equivalent preferred

• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment inthe United States without need for current or future employer-sponsoredwork authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorshipmay be eligible for internal transfers.
