Duties

• You will provide technical expertise in establishing MK 15 arresting gear test plans and programs which will achieve the objective of operational compatibility with the aircraft.
• You will use computerized data analysis techniques and transform raw test data into performance charts/equations.
• You will act as technical advisor to aircraft manufacturing contractors concerning all phases of recovering aircraft

• This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Functional Area and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established timeframes.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DP-03/GS9-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties:

• Experience within the Advanced Arresting Gear System in particular, a deep understanding of how the Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls subsystems interface
• Performing analysis of large and complex data sets and has knowledge of such tools utilized for analysis
• Working with stakeholders, both internal and external to NAVAIR, to form coalitions and achieve program goals
• Develop recommendations based on analysis, writing technical documentation, and briefing complex technical issues to leadership
• Utilizing modeling and simulation tools to forecast performance characteristics of ALRE systems
