Systems Administrator

Job Description

This role exists to manage, monitor, and maintain enterprise infrastructure and hosted applications, proactively addressing technology needs and ensuring systems remain highly available, secure, and aligned with service-level expectations.

\n

\n

What you'll do:

\n

\n

\n
• Monitoring, supporting, and troubleshooting incidents related to the enterprise infrastructure.
\n
• Apply patches to supported infrastructure to mitigate risk and enhance performance.
\n
• Ensure successful backups and recoverability of platforms.
\n
• Maintain security procedures and policies set forth by the engineers.
\n
• Leverage IT technologies for rapid deployment and efficient capacity/utilization management.
\n
• Performance tuning of operating systems and applications
\n
• Design, plan, and execute change management activities during evenings, weekends or as required.
\n
• Assist systems engineers to develop technical standards and documentation, identify, and evaluate new products, and provides resolution for network problems.
\n
• Work with systems engineering staff on innovative technologies such as cloud and standard operating procedures.
\n
• Work seamlessly with third party vendors for troubleshooting and escalation of tickets.

What you'll bring:

\n

\n

\n
• Minimum 5-10 years of hands-on experience implementing and managing IT technologies.
\n
• Operations experience in 24x7x365 environments
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication; Must be able to thoroughly document implementations, modifications, and removals.
\n
• Must be willing to work and participate in on-call rotation.
\n
• Bachelor of Science, Computer Science, or MIS degree or equivalent experience
\n
• Experience supporting and managing Windows Servers in enterprise environments.
\n
• Strong experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace cloud platforms and associated technologies such as Intune, SharePoint, Security etc.
\n
• Strong experience managing and administering Microsoft technologies such as AD, DNS, DHCP, CA,
\n
• Focused on commitment to enhance operational efficiencies through continued process improvement.
\n
• Desire to learn Linux Operating Systems with a goal to become a proficient Linux Administrator.
\n
• Basic understanding of scripting tools like PowerShell with the goal to acquire scripting proficiencies overtime.
\n
• Experience supporting and managing hypervisor platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
\n
• Familiarity with hyperconverged platforms (HPE, Dell, VxRail, Nutanix)
\n
• Experience supporting and managing monitoring systems, and backup platforms a plus.
\n
• Experience with educational platforms, a plus.
\n

Remote/Hybrid Policy: This role offers the flexibility of a fully remote environment. However, in alignment with our commitment to collaboration and team engagement, candidates within a 60-mile radius of our Chicago, IL headquarters will be expected to follow a hybrid schedule, working onsite 1-2 days per week to support in-person connection and cross-functional partnership.
