Network/Data Engineer

Job Description:

• The Layer 3 IP Engineer Role handles lifecycle provisioning of Provider Edge (PE), Customer Edge (CE) & P Routers as well as Switches and Terminal Servers that support Voice, Video, and Data in the Mobility Network.
• This role focuses on Hardware along with Operating Software. The initial implementation is included along with lifecycle management activities (Move, Add, Change, and Decommissioning).
• The hardware is configured via command line interface and automation platforms.
• This position supports both Network Technical Centers (NTC) and Mobility Technical Service Offices (MTSO) and is responsible for lifecycle execution, modernization, and operational support of critical Mobility Core and IP transport infrastructure.
• The engineer will participate in hardware refresh programs, software upgrades, network migrations, technology insertions, and service assurance activities that maintain network reliability and performance.
• Key Activities include Change Management Preparation & Planning, Maintenance Window Implementation, Service Assurance support, network automation, lifecycle project execution, and collaboration with Engineering, Planning, Operations, Vendor, and Project Teams.
• The candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision and partner with Implementation and Maintenance teams to successfully deliver complex network initiatives.

Qualifications :

• Project based work in a team environment
• Cisco CCNA and/or Juniper JNCIA certification
• Experience in new build configuration on Cisco IOS or Junos OS
• Routing/L3: Provisioning/Life Cycle/Troubleshooting experience
• MPLS VPN Architecture (P, PE, CE) experience preferred
• Python & Ansible desired
• Experience with Mobility Core Network infrastructure (MTSO, cMME, EPC, IMS, FirstNet, or related technologies)
• Experience with network automation, scripting, and configuration management tools
• Knowledge of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, Segment Routing, and IPVPN services
• Experience supporting lifecycle management programs including hardware/software refreshes and technology migrations
• Understanding of Service Assurance, Change Management, maintenance windows, and implementation processes
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems and virtualization platforms
• Experience troubleshooting complex Layer 3 network environments within a large-scale service provider network
• Knowledge of network monitoring, telemetry, SNMP, Syslog, and operational support tools
