Step into an impactful role supporting high school students in an Essential Life Skills program. This contract opportunity, based onsite near Blue Springs, MO, spans from ASAP through late May 2027. You'll work closely with a small caseload (7-9 students) in a dedicated setting focused on fostering independence and essential daily skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification, appropriate for high school levels
• Demonstrated experience or passion for working with students with a range of disabilities, specifically in life skills or specialized classrooms
• Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
• Comfort with small group and individualized instruction
• Excellent communication skills with students, families, and staff
• Effective classroom management and creativity in lesson planning

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to students’ unique life skills goals
• Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
• Create a positive, structured environment that encourages growth, independence, and self-advocacy
• Foster relationships with families and participate in meetings as needed
• Support students in acquiring skills for daily living, social interaction, and future community involvement

Working onsite, you'll contribute directly to your students’ achievements while enjoying the support of dedicated colleagues and leadership. The schedule consists of 37.5 hours per week throughout the academic year, offering consistency and professional growth.
