Veterinary Assistant - Emergency

Veterinary Assistant Or Certified Veterinary Technician
VCA Valley Animal Hospital and Emergency Center is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant (VA) or Certified Veterinary Technician to share in our exciting, fast-paced Emergency Department. Most importantly, the ideal candidate will have excellent client service and communication skills, as we are a client-centric practice.
Location: 4984 E 22nd St, Tucson, AZ 85711
Schedule: Varies based on hospital need; currently, the most frequent schedule will be 3X12 alternative work week Salary Range: $18 - 30 per hour

Essential Functions
- Venipuncture
- Catheter placement
- Radiology
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Physical examinations and patient assessment
- Surgical preparation and assisting
- Laboratory work
- Pharmacy
- Patient recovery
- Compassionate care for hospitalized patients
Qualifications
- Must have documented previous experience
- Flexibility in schedule
- Client Service Skills
- Working knowledge of computers
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player willing to learn new techniques and methods
