Job Summary:


The Registered Nurse in the ICU is responsible for providing expert nursing care to critically ill patients across various units including ICU, Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical. This role requires seasoned travel nursing experience with competencies in cardiac, neuro, trauma, and general surgery care. The nurse will deliver patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Responsibilities:

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license valid in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 3 years' ICU nursing experience with travel nursing background preferred.
• Proficiency in cardiac, neuro, trauma, and general surgery patient care.
• Ability to manage patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3 effectively.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities.
• Compliance with hospital uniform and dress code policies.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in Level II Trauma Center settings.
• Previous travel nursing assignments in acute care environments.
• Advanced certifications related to ICU nursing or critical care specialties.

Special Considerations:

• No on-call requirement.
• Expectation to work approximately 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule.
• Floating between ICU, Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical units as needed.
• Approval for 48-hour work weeks.
• Adherence to solid navy blue scrubs for licensed nursing personnel.

Scheduling:

• Shift assignments include day and night rotations as determined by unit needs.
• No block scheduling required.
• Weekend work required to meet department coverage expectations.
