Machinist

Summary We are seeking an experienced Machinist to manufacture hydraulic cylinder and component parts, while providing a high-level of quality and customer satisfaction. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience A minimum of 5 years of experience in operating CNC/Manual machines for precision parts Successful completion of a machinist program or similar studies from a technical college Must be skilled in use of all types of precision measuring instruments Must be able to interpret complex blueprints/drawings Individual must have experience operating the following machines: CNC Horizontal Turning Lathe with Live Tooling CNC Horizontal Machining Centers CNC Vertical Machining Centers Honing Cylinder Barrels Manual-Lathe, Mill and Saw Communication Skills Must be able to communicate in both a verbal and written form to the department Must be able to read, write and interpreted instructions Computer Skills Thorough knowledge of computer software programs required for machining operation. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a machine shop environment and is regularly exposed to close proximity of moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the machine shop environment can be loud. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This position is classified as full-time, non-exempt. Normal Days of work are Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required on occasion as needed.
