Sonography Technologist

Job Description

Responsible for using imaging equipment and ultrasound to form images of many parts of the body. They are trained to acquire and analyze these sonographic images. These images are used to help doctors diagnose and treat many medical conditions. Principal accountabilities include setting up and adjusting equipment, implementing safety standards, performing routine and complex studies, recognizing significant structures and artifacts, ensuring equipment functionality, submitting high-quality images, maintaining a clean department, and complying with regulatory agencies. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required: Either an associate degree or Bachelor's Degree, with coursework in the sciences and anatomy. Should have completed a certificate program in diagnostic medical sonography. Must be RDMS certified.
