MRI Technologist

Shift Details

• 5x8.0 shift schedule
• Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM

• On-call and callback per unit needs

Position Overview

• Seeking an MRI Technologist to join a healthcare team
• Must hold an associate degree in magnetic resonance imaging or radiology
• Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is a plus
• Must be able to operate the MRI machine efficiently
• Must be able to make patients feel comfortable before and during the scanning procedure
• Must coordinate with the patient's physician to ensure results are received in a timely manner
• Must be familiar with medical terminology
• Must be able to stand for extended periods

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility
• Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging
• Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable
• Insert IVs when necessary for the test
• Document all procedures while maintaining the confidentiality of patient information
• Patient care tasks as needed

Requirements

• Two (2) years of experience required
• BLS certification — American Heart Association ONLY
• GE Scanner experience — MUST HAVE GE SCANNER EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience
• Certification through the ARRT
• Injection certification — MUST HAVE INJECTION CERTIFICATION TO BE CONSIDERED
• NYS Rad Tech license — must be willing to obtain after starting
