RN Charge Nurse Perioperative

The RN Charge Perioperative OR - Days is responsible for providing leadership and oversight in the perioperative setting, primarily covering weekend shifts. This role involves managing the operating room team, ensuring patient safety, coordinating surgical schedules, and delivering skilled nursing care. The RN Charge Nurse acts as a clinical resource and liaison between staff and management to promote efficient and effective perioperative services. Responsibilities:

• Provide charge nurse leadership and support to the perioperative team during assigned shifts.
• Coordinate and oversee daily operating room activities including scheduling and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with patient assessments and preparation for surgery.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary team members to facilitate patient care.
• Provide mentorship and training to staff as needed.
• Respond to and resolve operational issues promptly to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to perioperative activities.

• Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Minimum of one year experience as a perioperative charge nurse or relief charge nurse.
• Strong clinical assessment and leadership skills in a perioperative setting.

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
• Two or more years of critical care experience.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) credential.

• Primarily weekend coverage required.
• Work environment is a fast-paced operating room requiring strong leadership and communication skills.

• Day shifts with weekend coverage focus.
• Shift assignments may vary based on operational needs.
