About the Role

RenewGas Transportation is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead and oversee fleet maintenance operations across multiple locations. Reporting directly to senior management, this individual will be responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of the company's trucks, trailers, and equipment.

This is a hands-on leadership position best suited for someone who has worked their way up through the shop environment into management and can step into the role with minimal training.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing preventative maintenance programs, fleet repairs, vendor relationships, budgets, and maintenance personnel. Knowledge of RNG and CNG transportation equipment is a plus but not required.

Candidates must be willing to travel periodically to terminals, repair vendors, and operational locations as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience as a diesel technician, mechanic, shop foreman, maintenance supervisor, or similar role before moving into management.
• Strong understanding of commercial vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Proven ability to improve fleet reliability and reduce downtime.
• Experience managing maintenance budgets and vendor relationships.
• Ability to identify issues, implement solutions, and drive accountability.
• Strong understanding of DOT, FMCSA, and hazardous materials compliance requirements.
• Self-starter with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of fleet maintenance experience.
• Minimum 3 years of maintenance leadership or management experience.
• Experience managing preventative maintenance programs and multi-location operations.
• Strong understanding of FMCSA, DOT, and hazardous materials regulations.
• Experience with maintenance software and asset tracking systems.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• ASE certifications, CDL, technical training, or related certifications are strongly preferred.
• Experience in trucking, transportation, industrial gas, RNG, or CNG industries is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Leadership

• Lead fleet maintenance operations across multiple locations.
• Provide direction and support to mechanics, vendors, and terminal managers.
• Establish and maintain maintenance standards and procedures.
• Ensure safe and efficient completion of all maintenance activities.

Fleet Reliability & Asset Management

• Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify reliability improvements.
• Track maintenance costs, trends, and recurring issues.
• Maximize fleet uptime while maintaining safety and compliance standards.

Vendor & Budget Management

• Manage relationships with maintenance vendors and parts suppliers.
• Negotiate service agreements and pricing.
• Develop and manage maintenance budgets.
• Support capital equipment planning and purchasing decisions.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, and repair records.
• Support audits, inspections, and equipment-related investigations.

Job Type

Full-Time | Exempt | Salaried

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.

Annual Bonus Eligibility

Travel & Schedule

• Full-time management position.
• Occasional after-hours support may be required.
• Travel to company terminals, vendors, and operating locations is expected.
• All company-related travel expenses are covered by RenewGas Transportation.
