Data Strategy Advisor

Overview Data Strategy Advisor – Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP). The role is located in the Bureau of Energy and Technology Policy (BETP) in New Britain, CT, and focuses on developing and articulating Connecticut’s energy and technology policy. Position Highlights Full‑time, Monday‑Friday, first shift, 40 hours per week with potential telework. Requires travel to New Britain and Hartford one to two days per week as business needs require. Responsibilities Manage all presentations and analyses shared with the Governor’s office, the legislature, and other critical stakeholders; Build data sets that can be leveraged for policy analysis and recommendations; Create graphics and presentations that simplify extremely complex energy concepts and data; Identify opportunities for internal process improvement; Draft strategic communications documents for internal and external audiences; Manage external consultants to develop high‑quality work products; Perform related duties as required. Qualifications & Experience 3+ years of work experience with advanced modeling and presentation skills; Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; Experience working cross‑functionally within an organization and with external partners; Experience in policy development (government or otherwise); Experience working on energy issues; Proficiency with advanced data analysis tools (Stata, PowerBI, Python, etc.); Ability to travel to Hartford 1‑2 days per week; and Ability to commute to New Britain, CT once a week.
