Radiation Therapist Opportunity

An opportunity is available for a skilled professional experienced in Radiation Therapy to provide essential care and support to oncology patients through the accurate interpretation and delivery of prescribed radiation treatments. This contract position requires effective collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, as well as the use of advanced equipment including Truebeam, Halcyon, and Aria for Record/Verify systems.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m. (5x8 schedule)

Key Qualifications:

• Current, valid Virginia Radiation Therapy license required (must be active at time of application)
• Proven proficiency as a Radiation Therapist in clinical settings
• Experience with Truebeam, Halcyon, and Aria preferred
• Thorough understanding of simulation, treatment planning, tumor localization, and dosimetry
• Ability to assist and ensure patient comfort and safety during Brachytherapy procedures
• Strong communication and assessment skills, including the ability to triage patients who need nursing evaluation

Primary Responsibilities:

• Administer daily radiation treatments to cancer patients according to oncologist prescriptions
• Accurately interpret treatment plans and instructions
• Provide support during simulation and brachytherapy procedures
• Collaborate with the care team to plan and optimize treatment delivery
• Triage and communicate patient health concerns promptly to nursing staff for further evaluation
• Offer clinical instruction and oversight to students in the radiation therapy discipline when necessary
