Job Title: Quality Technician

Pay: $34/hr

Shift: 7am - 3:30pm; M-F

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Technician to implement and uphold our company's Quality Policy and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) related to quality and food safety requirements. This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement in food safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Drive culture change in continuous improvement in food safety and quality.
• Ensure that products, services, housekeeping, and hygiene standards are maintained and improved by conducting GMP Audits.
• Review Critical Control Point and Preventative Control Documentation.
• Investigate root causes and implement Corrective Action/Preventative actions for quality or food safety concerns.
• Manage cocoa bean quality and sensory evaluation, and support supplier improvement.
• Coordinate and release finished goods, executing hold and release processes for all finished products and ingredients.
• Perform routine and ad-hoc inspections, tests, and audits to verify product quality, including texture, color, taste, and packaging.
• Support internal and external food quality and safety audits, and report and track corrective actions.
• Support the quality control team as a backup technician.
• Ensure production is not hindered by quality testing procedures.

Essential Skills

• Experience in quality assurance, quality inspection, and food inspection.
• Knowledge of GMP environment and Good Documentation Practices.
• Proficiency in quality control and inspection processes in a food production setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in a food lab or manufacturing facility preferred.
• Effective communication skills with departments, management, and employees.
• Ability to work independently or within a team, with and without supervision.
• Capability to prioritize and multi-task to ensure timely and accurate completion of job functions.
• Strong mathematical and data processing skills.

This is a Contract position based out of Burlingame, CA.

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $34.00/hr.
