Neptune Medical, an innovative, venture capital-funded medical device startup headquartered in Burlingame, CA, is seeking a Materials Specialist. The team at Neptune has already commercialized novel medical devices using their technology. Now the team is building something truly unique: a fully flexible medical robot that enables doctors to reach deep into human anatomy. Triton Robotic Endoscopy will disrupt flexible endoscopy and set a new standard in outcomes for decades to come.

The Materials Specialist will focus on supporting the manufacturing team's commercial preparation. This role will engage in cross-functional collaboration to manage materials in-house to ensure smooth rollout of manufacturing activities. The successful candidate will possess a passion for medical device operations/supply chain with a record of successful management of multiple products.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Performs daily routine tasks: receives, stores, labeling, kitting, picks, packs, ships and/or distributes materials.
• Maintains MIN MAX and ROP for production material and manages to ensure no production part shortages.
• Prepares domestic and international shipments.
• May assist with work orders, as needed.
• May assist with purchase orders, as needed
• Verifies goods received against documentation.
• Performs an initial quality check on incoming items.
• Prepares materials for production & R&D, including picking and staging components according to work orders.
• Manages BOM and inventory, performing regular cycle counts to ensure accurate part counts and inventory reconciliation.
• Collaborates with production teams to fulfill material transfer requests and support manufacturing schedules.
• Assists R&D with Material Transfer Requests.
• When needed, assists in the packaging and shipment of finished goods, as necessary.
• Manages incoming and outgoing material shipments for offsite storage.
• Main point of contact to monitor/track shipments, obtain missing shipment documentation or corrections, and resolve accounts payable issues.
• Supports company goals and objectives, policies and procedures that comply with FDA Quality System Regulations (QSR), ISO 13485, and any other applicable domestic.
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety guidelines.
• Other responsibilities to support Manufacturing Operations as required.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma required.
• 2 years' work experience in a regulated industry (e.g., medical device, pharma industry, aerospace).
• Ability to lift fifty-five (20) pounds.
• Impeccable organizational skills
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross functional teams.
• Outstanding time management and multi-tasking skills - able to appropriately prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
• Capable of reading and understanding part prints
• A driven outlook and with a strong desire to succeed as an individual Material Specialist Operations Coordinator, as a team, and as a company

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Propel Quality system.
• Experience with NetSuite system.
• Experience supporting medical devices and capital equipment BOMs.
• Experience in a start-up environment
• Experience creating, setting up, and/or managing inventory systems.
• Experience with packaging and shipping of products

Neptune Medical is located in Burlingame, CA, near the Millbrae Caltrain and BART Station.

The starting hourly rate for this role is between $35-$40 / hour depending on experience. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for equity, benefits and 401(K) with matching.
