Senior Tax Accountant

Our firm is growing and needs additional personnel specializing in taxation who want to grow and learn with the team. The tax accountant position would be responsible for assisting and preparing income tax returns. This position will also assist with tax audits, tax research, and special tax projects. Responsibilities: Prepare tax returns for individuals and businesses, including multi-state Support responses to tax notices and tax audits Update and maintain Fixed Asset schedules Reconcile client books and records Prepare year end trial balances and corresponding workpapers Investigate balance sheet and income statement discrepancies Perform special projects and/or other duties as assigned Communicate tax and accounting issues with managers and partners in a timely manner and propose solutions Focus on developing skills and building technical skill base Responsibilities increase with demonstrated skill Qualifications: Bachelor’s/master’s degree in accounting CPA license preferred or currently pursuing licensure 3+ years of related experience Must have intermediate level computer skills or must be able to learn new software quickly. (QuickBooks, Ultra Tax, Microsoft Office) Strong organizational skills & attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills Ability to interact positively in a professional manner with partners, coworkers, and clients Eagerness to learn, contribute, and engage #J-18808-Ljbffr Michigan Association of CPAs
