Teacher/Professional - District Office - Accountant Job Number 0000765334 Start Date Open Date 08/03/2026 Closing Date ROLE AND PURPOSE: To maintain the accuracy of all AISD general ledger accounts and the resulting financial statements in accordance with generally accepted principles and TEA regulations.Perform specific duties as assigned by the Director of Accounting. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: Minimum certification/education and experience: Bachelor's in business administration in accounting or equivalent Experience: Experience working in computerized accounting systems SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Must have a proficient understanding of governmental fund accounting Proficient in the use of a personal computer, with emphasis on Microsoft Office applications MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: I. JOB DUTIES: Month-end general ledger reconciliation Assist with preparing financial reports, as needed MAC/SHARS Reporting Bank Reconciliations State/Local Grant management including revenue postings Account code management Maintain district fixed asset records Annual fixed asset inventory Capital Project Accounting CIP Reporting Internal Service Fund Accounting Monitor transactions booked through the travel management system Bank transmissions- positive pay, voided checks, etc. Provide schedules and information to the external auditors, as needed Provide accurate and timely answers to other District personnel who have questions or problems regarding general accounting issues. Perform other projects as assigned by the Director of Accounting. II. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None III. EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE SKILLS: Personal computer, printer, fax machine, copier, scanner, and calculator. IV. WORKING CONDITIONS: MENTAL DEMANDS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computers and peripherals; standard instructional equipment.
