Service Technician

We are seeking a motivated individual with a strong mechanical aptitude to join our Dental Service team. This is an opportunity to work alongside the best in the dental industry to provide first‑class customer service while learning how to install and repair a variety of dental equipment, including computer‑related items. Essential Functions To perform this job successfully, an employee must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation. Install and repair dental equipment: Observe, listen, learn and apply training supplied by mentors and online courses. Safely remove, modify, repair, and install various dental equipment under general supervision, eventually working independently. Follow checklists, ensure all critical parts are examined, demonstrate knowledge on installation procedures and job‑site protocol, apply manufacturer and Patterson guidelines, OSHA and other applicable laws and regulations related to asepsis. Customer service: Support customer needs through timely and professional responses, treating customers respectfully and considerately, building and maintaining relationships through follow‑up and courteous interactions. Communication: Understand and convey information to customers, listen attentively, ask questions when necessary and explain technical aspects in general terminology to a non‑technical audience. Additional Functions Work ethic: Commitment and desire to work with a sense of urgency and persistence while following Patterson’s business conduct and code of ethics. Problem‑solving skills: Anticipate problems and customer needs and go beyond training to find answers. Interpersonal skills: Establish and maintain productive relationships with customers, vendors and colleagues. Inventory management: Determine parts, supplies or tools needed to complete service requests and manage vehicle inventory. Personal/vehicle safety: Maintain a quality driving record, represent Patterson while driving a company vehicle and schedule proper maintenance. Job Qualifications Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Mechanical aptitude required Strong work ethic and ownership of company and customer goals Focused on understanding, meeting, and exceeding customer expectations Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment Basic computer skills and/or ability to use smartphone/tablet Strong verbal and written communication skills Valid driver’s license with a good driving record Preferred Qualifications Trade school training in carpentry, plumbing, heating, electricity or electronics (highly desirable but not required) Excellent organization and problem‑solving skills Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Teams is helpful Working Conditions Physical Demands Remain stationary or driving up to 100% of the day. Lift boxes and dental supplies up to 25 lbs up to 75% of the day. Install/maintain equipment under cabinets up to 50% of the day. Reach at shoulder or waist level up to 25% of the day. Move equipment weighing 26–49 lbs up to 10% of the day. Move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs into place less than 5% of the day. Climb steps/ladders less than 5% of the day. Environmental Factors Travel to customer locations. Travel and On‑call 100% travel to customer sites in a local geographic area.
