Role Description

MCIC is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Assistant Vice President, Data Analytics to lead the transformation of data into meaningful insights that strengthen business performance, reduce loss costs, and support our mission of serving healthcare professionals. As a leader of Data Analytics, you will guide the development of trusted reporting, advanced analytics, and actionable business intelligence that empower smarter strategic, operational, and financial decisions. Leveraging your expertise in insurance, medical professional liability, and data analytics, you will collaborate with senior leaders, cross-functional teams, and Subscriber stakeholders to identify opportunities, solve complex business challenges, and deliver scalable solutions that drive results.

In partnership with Information Technology and Information Security, you will help shape and advance a modern analytics environment that leverages emerging technologies—including artificial intelligence, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis—to support innovation while ensuring solutions remain practical, reliable, and aligned with organizational priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Data Science, Actuarial Science, Finance, Business Analytics, or related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
• 10+ years’ experience of analytics-related experience within the insurance industry. Specific experience in medical professional liability preferred.
• Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently resolve complex problems.
• In-depth knowledge of data management principles, data modeling, and data visualization best practices.
• Expertise in analytics tools and languages such as SQL, Python, R, or similar.
• Experience in working with large datasets, data warehousing, and business intelligence platforms.
• Experience leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques (e.g., predictive modeling, natural language processing, or generative AI) to drive advanced analytics, automate processes, and deliver actionable business insights preferred.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to manage complex work streams and projects and gain the confidence and respect of senior level executives.
• Ability to mentor direct reporting staff and create opportunities for staff development.

Requirements

• Lead and develop a Data Analytics team by providing clear direction, coaching, mentorship, and support.
• Partner with business leaders and enterprise project teams to understand strategic priorities, define analytics requirements, and translate business needs into effective solutions.
• Guide the development of high-quality reporting and analytics solutions, ensuring outputs are timely, accurate, consistent, and trusted by stakeholders.
• Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and coach team members to communicate results effectively to executive, operational, and technical audiences.
• Identify and deliver data and analytics solutions that improve organizational efficiency within the Analytics function and across the enterprise.
• Partner closely with Information Technology and Information Security to design and deliver a modern, secure analytics environment that supports enterprise data, reporting, and advanced analytics needs.
• Help identify, develop, and implement AI solutions that advance strategic and operational analytics priorities.
• Support the implementation of advanced analytics capabilities, including AI solutions, predictive modeling, and advanced statistical techniques, ensuring they are practical, scalable, and aligned with business priorities.
• Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement by building team capability, encouraging innovation, and embedding analytics into business processes across the enterprise.
