At PIM, you can make an immediate and lasting contribution to help grow iconic snack and confectionery brands, no matter your area of expertise.The Staff Accountant assists in month-end close activities, including but not limited to journal entries, operating expense/process order variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and reporting. Weekly responsibilities will be related to recording labor journal entries and work order variance analysis. The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of accounting fundamentals and a desire to independently identify the root cause of discrepancies, communicate their findings, and propose solutions or adjustments.Job Description:1. Performs cost accounting activities on SAP process ordersa. Confirm PO confirmationsb. Run weekly PO Settlementc. Prepare PO variance for Cost Manager Review2. Prepare month-end journal entries, analysis, and reporting:a. Month-end accruals, amortizations, and adjustmentsb. Monthly inventory obsolescence and scrap material reviewc. Reconcile balance sheet accounts to accounting subledgers and update Blacklined. Analysis of operating expenses and production variances.3. Performs weekly labor journal entry4. Prepare monthly utility bills for review and posting, maintain utility detail worksheet5. Perform ad hoc product/plant analysis to support product costing and to support operations6. Provide support for annual audit.a. Support cycle count and year end physical inventory and spare parts inventory.b. Respond to audit requests7. Project work as assigned8. Report food safety and quality issues to Plant management and SQFP9. Follow PIM Brands GMP rules10. Monitor fellow employees for adherence to GMP’s.11. Ability to work additional hours as neededPHYSICAL DEMANDS/ ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSStanding, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, and crouching. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers for keyboard entry. Lifting and moving objects weighing at least 15 lbs. Reasonable accommodations will be evaluated and considered to enable an individual to perform the essential job functions.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Office environment is well lighted and climate controlled. When on the plant floor it is representative of a large, busy manufacturing operation. Noisy, active, objects on the floor, constant movement, and traffic flow of motorized equipment.
