Ultrasound Technician

Role The Ultrasound Tech performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations under physician supervision to identify abnormalities and aid in patient diagnosis. Responsibilities Maintain ARDMS certification and technical competency, prepare patients, operate ultrasound equipment, review image quality, and ensure accurate documentation. Assist and instruct students and staff, provide patient education and comfort, follow infection control protocols, and operate information systems. Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, and equipment maintenance. Qualifications Must be ARDMS registered with relevant registries, hold BCLS certification, and have experience as specified for Ultrasound Technologist I or II roles, including pediatric experience for higher levels. Physical requirements include manual dexterity, ability to lift and move patients and equipment, and effective communication skills.
