Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant | Momar, Inc. | Atlanta, GA

Momar, a privately owned specialty chemical manufacturer headquartered in Atlanta, is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our finance team. You'll report directly to the CFO and play a key role in keeping our financial operations accurate, compliant, and running smoothly - including some exposure to our sister company, Widespread Industrial Supplies.

Please note relocation is not offered for this position.

What you'll do

• Own state and local tax compliance - filings, account setup, and direct communication with jurisdictional offices. This includes account reconciliation and tax portal management.
• Manage our Concur expense reporting system, including reviewing and approving employee expenses
• Administer our Avalara account and related tax automation processes
• Post journal entries under the Controller's direction and support AR/AP as needed
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support monthly/annual close and provide audit documentation as needed
• Take on special projects that come with a growing, hands-on finance team

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience with Concur
• Solid grasp of accounting principles and financial processes
• Sharp attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Comfort managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication
• Sound judgment and the ability to make decisions independently
• A collaborative mindset - you'll work closely with the broader finance/accounting team

Physical requirements: Primarily sedentary role with occasional lifting/moving up to 25 lbs; frequent sitting, use of hands for data entry, and reaching.
