Job Summary The Volunteer Coordinator position coordinates and supports the operational oversight of the Hospital Volunteer Services program. This position must demonstrate a commitment of quality service to our patients, the public, and our co-workers. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations governing the privacy of patients’ protected health information. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Coordinates volunteer recruitment, training, ongoing education, and support meetings. Schedules and tracks volunteers to meet organizational needs. Ensures volunteer documentation is timely, appropriate, and accurate. Records and maintains statistical information to demonstrate effectiveness of service. Performs clerical and administrative support duties as assigned in a prompt, effective, and confidential manner to ensure department efficiency. Interacts courteously and effectively with volunteers and all departmental customers to provide assistance, answer questions, and facilitate effective operations. Coordinates the annual volunteer recognition event and any other events that support volunteers. Performs special projects to meet identified project goals and objectives. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High School diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience and demonstrated proficiency with the Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office required. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Preferred Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, preferred. 1 year of prior experience in volunteer services or related administrative work, preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups of individuals. Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a multi-project environment. Required Physical Requirements Constant (67-100% of workday) sitting and use of arms and hands; occasional (0-33% of workday) standing, walking, bending, squatting; ability to lift, push, and pull up to 10 lbs.; auditory and visual skills. Mental Requirements Possesses critical thinking and analytical skills. Ability to multi-task. Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.
