Business Manager – Marketing & Messaging Capital One Business Travel (COBT) is part of the Premium Products and Experiences (PPX) team. The role focuses on driving marketing strategy to support COBT’s go‑to‑market initiatives, with a focus on Field‑managed small and medium‑enterprise customers. This position leads 1–2 analysts and collaborates with marketing, product, and other stakeholders to design and execute integrated campaigns. Responsibilities Identify messaging and design target strategy: partner with the insights team to deeply understand the target audience, validate product positioning and messaging, and act as the voice of both the customer and Capital One Business Travel. Support development of GTM strategy: build an end‑to‑end view of COBT’s marketing strategy, including customer journeys, segmentation, channel strategy, positioning, and key messaging. Channel performance analytics: assess ROI of different channels and provide perspective on COBT’s GTM strategy across channels. Lead triggered messaging campaigns: develop and execute triggered messaging campaigns and holistic strategy across customer journeys and segments. Content strategy: partner closely with COBT marketing teams to refine positioning and customer‑facing claims. Marketing execution: support COBT marketing partners in the execution of, and performance analysis of, specific campaigns. Relationship management: serve as the lead point of contact for Card, Field, and Marketing teams to champion marketing goals and increase product usage. External analysis: understand how competitors evolve their product and messaging strategies and build positioning strategies that place us for success in the market. Event strategy: partner with the Sponsorships team to develop and execute a high‑impact conference and industry event strategy. Strategic leadership: develop business strategies that drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One in response to shifting consumer and regulatory demands. Leadership: manage and develop 1–2 analysts, coaching and mentoring associates for talent development and retention. Product: develop and implement new product and pricing strategies for lending products; lead product level modeling and analytics. Marketing: lead direct‑to‑consumer marketing efforts for select products and strategic intent for products distributed through the retail channel; build targeted insights to inform new customer experiences and breakthrough concepts. Credit risk: drive improvements in credit performance by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses using rigorous monitoring and analysis. Execution: manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build business requirements, and execute against the product strategy while overseeing multiple projects concurrently. Partnership: work closely with colleagues across Capital One (IT, Sales, Operations, Finance, and others) to drive improvements in quality, volume, service, and profitability. Strategic & analytic orientation: apply proven decision‑making and problem‑solving based on analytics; complement conceptual thinking with strong quantitative orientation. Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration. Preferred: Master’s degree in Business or quantitative field; 5+ years of analytical experience; 2+ years in financial services; 1+ year in consulting; 2+ years in people management. Compensation and Benefits McLean, VA: $164,800 - $188,100 New York, NY: $179,700 - $205,100 Richmond, VA: $149,800 - $171,000 This role is eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long‑term incentives (LTI).
