Operating Room - Surgical Technologist

Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of acute care experience.

• High School completion required.

Requirements:

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• No previous experience allowed for Staff at Facility: CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center and no current placement allowed at Program: HealthTrust Program - Christus Health.

• No previous experience allowed for Part-Time at Facility: CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center and no current placement allowed at Program: HealthTrust Program - Christus Health.

Additional Details:

Preferred Skills/Experience: Ability to proficiently scrub 3 specialty areas including, but not limited to, transplants, open heart, urology, neurology, titanium rib, and robotics is highly preferred.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 90 days must be explained.

Unit Details: Assists with pre-operative patient preparation, transport, positioning, specimen handling, and operating room setup according to the type of case. Establishes and maintains the sterile field, passes instruments and sutures to the physician, and assists as directed during surgical procedures.

Shift & Scheduling: 1-2 24-hour weekend call shifts per schedule. 1-2 call nights per week.

Floating Requirements: Float to other departments as needed.

Required Credentials: High School Diploma or equivalent is required Completion of the Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program is required

7 days maximum time off

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

Proof of identification required
