Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Assisting the supervising Physical Therapist in gathering patient data through appropriate tests and measurements, ensuring accuracy in clinical evaluations.
• Implementing treatment plans designed by the PT, performing therapy procedures such as manual therapy, stretching, and exercise regimens tailored to each patient's needs.
• Monitoring and documenting patient progress, including their physical and mental responses to treatments, while promptly reporting any significant changes to the supervising therapist.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, integrating physical therapy with other therapeutic services as needed.
• Participating in clinical meetings to enhance communication and coordination of patient care.
• Educating patients and their families about treatment goals and self-management strategies to promote effective home care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse demographic, including post-operative patients, individuals with chronic pain conditions, and those recovering from injuries. Your therapeutic interventions will be tailored to meet the unique functional goals and challenges faced by each patient, ensuring a holistic approach to their recovery.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the PTA position will have:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field.
• A valid Physical Therapist Assistant License in California at the time of hiring.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, or the willingness to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

Preferred Experience

We value candidates with:

• Minimum of two years of experience as a PTA, preferably in a hospital or outpatient setting.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and a familiarity with documentation standards in physical therapy.

Compensation and Benefits

Velocity Wellness & Physical Therapy offers a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition to salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including:
