This role will support the Finance and Compliance functions for workforce development programs based in North Central Texas. You will be responsible for a wide range of financial operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close activities, and compliance with funder and organizational accounting standards. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting audits, and maintaining fiscal accountability across multiple funding streams. This position reports directly to the Project Accountant and will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a mission-driven, fast-paced environment./ppYour Impact on Career Teams Success:/pulliPrepare and post journal entries, perform general ledger reconciliations, and support monthly close processes/liliPrepares monthly project advance requests, Invoices and supporting documentation and works with Workforce Boards on any inquires to assure timely payment./liliEnsure accuracy of cash, accounts payable, and receivable records/liliSupport budget tracking and grant accounting to ensure funds are spent in compliance with program guidelines/liliMaintain accurate records of financial transactions for internal reporting and external audits/liliAssist in preparing Cost Reimbursement invoices, funder reports, and other documentation as needed/liliTrack and analyze expenditures across programs and funding sources, identifying variances and potential issues/liliMaintain documentation for audit readiness, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local funding requirements/liliReview and Process employee expenses/liliParticipate in internal and external audits by preparing requested schedules and supporting documents Monitor procurement and financial activities to ensure alignment with organizational policies/liliPartner with HR and Compliance teams to ensure accurate recording of payroll and benefits allocations Approach each day and task with a ZAG mindset/liliOther duties and projects as needed/li/ulpThe Ideal Qualifications for this Position Include:/pulliA bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field/lili2+ years of professional accounting experience, strong knowledge of GAAP/liliHigh proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Workday, or similar)/liliDetail oriented with strong organizational, analytical, research and problem-solving skills/liliAbility to meet Accounting month end deadlines, be proactive and demonstrate an ability to work independently and in a virtual team environment./liliStrong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams/liliAbility to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity in all financial matters/li/ulpAdditional Skills/Knowledge Career Team Would Love for This Role:/pulliBilingual or multilingual capabilities/liliExperience working with publicly funded programs/liliFamiliarity with workforce development, TANF, WIOA, or SNAP funding compliance 2/liliExperience preparing reports for audits or funders/liliAbility to adapt quickly to changes in procedures, systems, and priorities/liliProactive approach to solving problems and streamlining processes/li/ulpEmployment Type: Full-Time, Exempt Employee/ppJob Site: Onsite/ppSalary: $60,000 - $70,000/yr based on experience./ppTravel: minimal travel within the region - most likely based out of the Denton or Plano office./ppAbout Career Team:/ppFounded in 1996, Career Team, LLC is a private workforce development organization./ppCareer Teams outstanding record of accelerating the human condition has resulted in numerous honors:/pulliNamed by Inc.
