Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) manages and directs nursing care activities in the cath lab and interventional radiology areas. The role requires energy, high motivation and a commitment to supporting the success of Saint Louis University Hospital. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive nursing assessment upon admission or transfer to PACU and provide ongoing reassessments. Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care based on assessment data, diagnosis and physician orders. Deliver and document nursing interventions, including medication and parenteral therapy, blood‑drawing, and patient education. Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, communicate with the care team and notify physicians as required. Participate in additional learning experiences, committee membership, in‑services and peer performance evaluations. Maintain and practice safety and infection control policies, including universal precautions and hazardous waste disposal. Provide patient‑centered service excellence, respectful communication and confidentiality. Engage in quality improvement activities such as data collection, PI plan development, and research participation. Provide age‑appropriate care to infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics, and specialized high‑risk care including restraint management, pain management and abuse assessment. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a valid RN license. Minimum one year of medical‑surgical experience; critical care or post‑anesthesia care experience preferred. Clinically certified in Advanced Life Support (ALS). Basic Life Support (BLS) is required for all listed states. Knowledge of blood‑borne pathogen precautions, latex handling and compliance with state nursing regulations. Strong communication, teamwork and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
