HR Generalist Full Time Days

Summary The Human Resource Generalist supports various human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration and compliance. In addition, the HR Generalist coordinates the daily operations of the human resource department, which includes organizing training programs, policy administration, handling employee data, project management, employee relations, training, new hire onboarding, transfers, hiring events, contractors, reporting and data entry into HR systems. Works independently with minimal guidance. May act as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Must be sensitive to department needs, employee goodwill and the business needs. Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. Assist in performance management processes, including performance reviews, goal setting, and employee development plans. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HRIS data, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy laws. Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in healthcare HR, and propose innovative solutions to enhance HR processes and practices. Maintains employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies. Provide guidance and resolution of day-to-day queries/issues through the interpretation and application of policies and procedures and discern matters that should be escalated to HRBP’s. Ensure timely and accurate entries to the HRIS database. Consults with management to provide HR guidance, if appropriate. Assists with coordination of employee recognition programs. Assist the recruitment team with hiring processes, tracking and updating onboarding forms, required licensing and certifications, background checks, drug screens, I9 document knowledge of immigration and compliance requirements and verification, new hire and contract employee clearances. Coordinate pre-employment appointments. Review and update HR information systems. Assists in the development and implementation of new policies; maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manuals. Maintains management personnel files. Review internal processes, provide change recommendations and implement new processes where broken. Ensures compliance with Federal, state and local laws and regulatory agencies. Answers phone calls and routes calls as needed. Manages sign on and referral bonuses. Trains and gives presentations to groups of employees on various topics, including New Hire Orientation, policies, and HR updates for Meetings. Attends staff meetings and actively participates, reads and acknowledges meeting minutes. Other duties and projects as assigned. Job Qualifications Minimum Education High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with employees and stakeholders. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. Preferred Education Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification. Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications Ability to effectively communicate and engage at all levels of the organization. Knowledge and experience with California employment laws, compensations, benefits administration, employee relations, and recruitment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Computer literate. Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects, handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines. Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications Experience implementing organization-wide policies and systems. 2 years of experience in HR roles within a healthcare setting, preferably in an acute care hospital environment. Understanding of HR practices, employment laws, and regulatory requirements specific to the healthcare industry. Experience with HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation LA Fire Card within 30 days of hire date. ARC within 30 days of hire date.
